Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe was one of the most influential bombshells of all times. In Los Angeles, California on June 1st, 1925 a star was born that was going to shock the film industry. Monroe was born with the name Norma Jean Mottelson. However when she arrived in Hollywood, a talent scout by the name of Ben Lyon renamed her Marilyn Monroe. Lyon got her name from two people, Marilyn Miller an actress and Monroe was the maiden name of Marilyn’s mother.

In 1956 Norma Jean Mortenson legally changed her name. The classic bombshell was in 29 films, even though her films were classic, she was infamous for the lovers that she was linked to. Her man Rasta includes the likes of John F. Kennedy, Joe DiMaggio who she was actually married to. Other men on her list included: Arthur Miller, Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando and many more. August 5th, 1962 was a shocking day for a nation and loyal fans; this is the day that Ms. Monroe died. Her death was a controversial issue, since it was believed to be a suicide.

A combination of pills that were prescribed for insomnia was taken by Monroe, and some believe she accidentally overdosed. Others believe that the plan was to have Marilyn Monroe dead, and those powerful pills were meant to be injected in to her body. No one will ever know the true reason behind this , hollywood actress’ death but her legacy will forever be in many people’s hearts.

Ruth Elizabeth Davis born on April 5th, 1908 would become “Bettie Davis” an actress that would never be deemed as stunning. The characters that this sexy celebrity babe portrayed were mean-spirited, cold and full of malice. Giving up dancing for acting in her first year of high school paid off, throughout her career this classic babe was nominated for 10 Oscars and won two of them for her outstanding performances in Jezebel (1939) and Dangerous (1935). Her Broadway debut was in 1929 in a play titled “Broken Dishes”. Bettie Davis received many awards throughout her career.

In 1977 the American Film Institute presented her with their lifetime achievement award. In 1979 she won best actress for – Strangers: The story of a Mother and Daughter. Davis suffered from a lot of health problems that usually caused her to withdraw from films; some of her health issues included a stroke and mastectomy.

Bettie’s love interests were that of her first husband Arthur Farnsworth, who died from an accidental fall. However the true love of Ms. Davis was that of director William Wyler, but he refused to leave his wife for Betty. Most Hollywood babes change their name when entering Hollywood. When Betty arrived in Hollywood, universal studios wanted her to change her name to “Bettina Dawes”. Davis refused and said that she would not go through life with a name that sounded like “Between the draws” Bettie Davis had three children, one who was severely retarded. On of her daughters who goes by the name of B. D. Wrote a scandalous tell all book about Bettie Davis titled “My mother’s keeper” October 6, 1989 the first lady of film died of metastasized breast cancer. Bettie Davis legacy still continues to inspire many women in film today.

Bo Derek

On November 20th, 1956 Mary Cathleen Collins was born in Long Beach, California. This little girl would soon grow up to become Bo Derek, a golden globe nominated sexy actress model and producer. This sexy celebrity babe started her modeling careers, so she could pay for a surfboard and the rest is history. After a few shots in the glamorous life of a model, she got a Hollywood agent. On one of her auditions, she met John Derek a man who was 30 years her senior. John Derek immediately fell in love with Mary and divorced his wife, actress Linda Evans.

The couple decided to go to Germany, so John would not be charged under statutory rape laws. In 1976, when Mary was able to get married she married john at the age of 18, upon returning to the U.S and was now known as Bo Derek. The pair remained married until his death in 1998.

Bo’s first onscreen performance was in 1977 for a film titled Orca: The Killer Whale. However Derek’s rise to fame came in 1979 in a Blake Edwards film titled “10” in which Dudley Moore’s character is torn between his lover for Julie Andrews and his infatuation with Bo Derek’s character. Her presence in the film automatically labeled her as a sex symbol and gave her instant access to fame. Derek was actually nominated for a golden globe for a new star of the year, but lost to Bette Midler. March 1980, Bo made a name for her and posed for her first playboy spread, and many spreads followed thereafter. Bo Derek is still a hot sexy babe and has made guest appearances on current day shows like Still Standing, 7th Heaven and Fashion House. Just because Bo Derek is a sexy celebrity babe, that does not mean she can’t have brains. Derek is a well-known supporter of the Republican Party and has worked with the Presidential Bush family father and son. Derek is also a spokeswoman for The Animal Welfare Institute. Derek is also an avid horse lover and rides often like many classic babes.
